Good Scientific Practice for Young Scientists
The KIT Statutes for Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice give special attention to the principles of good scientific practice in the doctoral and postdoctoral phase. This is not only a matter of ensuring, that the knowledge learned to safeguard good scientific practice is applied by young scientists in their own research process. The supervision and support of young scientists is also an explicit requirement of the regulations on good scientific practice:
- In its Guidelines for the Doctorate at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, KIT has summarized the most important regulations that are relevant for doctoral studies.
- For postdocs and ther Supervisers there are Guidelines for the Postdoc Phase at KIT.
- The Karlsruhe House of Young Scientists (KHYS) is the central institution for the promotion of young scientists, supporting doctoral resarchers, postdocs, the Young Investigator Network (YIN), and doctoral programs.
In case of conflicts or disputes during the doctoral phase, doctoral candidates and supervisors alike can contact the four respective ombudspersons.
